Pikasi Zelen

This youthful unoaked barbera is showing lots of depth and expression. Rich aromas of cherry, raspberry and blackberry with white pepper and a touch of fennel lead to a slightly salty and bitter palate with plenty of weight and substance. This is a casual wine meant to be drunk young, but, given some time, it will likely develop and mature into a seriously complex wine in a year or two, even in screwcaps.
Pair it with casual fare, bring it to a BBQ! It will go nicely with burgers, ribs, sausages, steak, kebabs and also pizza.

Projekt Noir

Origin: Bela Krajina, Slovenia
Climate: Subpannonian continental with
mediterranean influences
Soil: Clay and lower limestone.
Alcohol: 14% vol
The nose is fruity – lots of ripe fruits, cherry cola, with a hint of pears and caramel. It has a dusty, earthy aroma that keeps you interested long after your glass is empty. The gorgeous aromas are echoed on the palate. The texture is super smooth, soft, and balanced. Not too acidic or tannin.
The grapes were hand-harvested into 15 kg crates. Fermentation took place in 1000 L open vats with 20% whole bunch. After 20-days maceration and after pressing into stainless steel tank to ensure that ferments are dry and to perform malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 12 months in 2 and 3 year old 225 L barrique barrels. The wine is not filtered or fined. It shows the ripeness and balance of the vintage.

Pullus Pinot Grigio

Macerated for 72 hours with skins gives this wine a light, friendly, and clear pinky, salmon color. Made from perfect ripe grapes that were picked THREE TIMES OVER THE SPAN OF SEPTEMBER, this Pinot Grigio was given cold maceration, ML, partial lees aging, and 10% neutral oak maturation. Starting with a delightful rosy hue typical of the grape when grown in superior climates, this dry wine delivers everything wine lovers expect from Pinot Grigio - and much, much more! The nose offers ripe pear, green melon and floral notes, while the discreet oak and the creamy quality given by lees aging round out the experience on the palate with a sensational and lushess spice note you don't expect from a Pinot Grigio. A wine with great structure, finesse, and elegance, it is perfect for pasta, white meat and young cheeses.

Pullus Sauvignon Blanc

SUSTAINABLE FARMING Sauvignon Blanc in the Pullus
line is made from grapes harvested FOUR TIMES OVER THE
COURSE OF ONE MONTH to ensure optimal ripeness and
complexity. Protective technology ensures and allows very lows
levels of added sulphur, freshness, and the preservation of
varietal characteristics found in much higher price points of
sauvignon blanc. Partial lees aging adds a roundness unexpected
in a wine made for drinking now. A dry, delightfully rounded
wine with grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, guava and pineapple
on the nose and hints of paprika, minerality, tropical fruits, and
delightful acidity on the palate make this a springtime treat with
asparagus dishes and seafood.

Sanctum Medved Chardonnay

Chardonnay has been cultivated on these hills since the French monks planted it in the 12th century. They thought this land was special for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The new Sanctum Medved Chardonnay is made with a hand-off approach in order to express the fruit and the terroir of Lipoglav vineyards in the glass. The wine is rich but lean at the same time, the fruit is enticing but gentle, with a faint and pleasant reductive smokiness. The palate is chalky and mineral with alcohol and acidity balanced perfectly.

Great with soups, especially the traditional Jota soup with cabbage and pork, roasted chicken, mushrooms, grilled vegetables, shrimp, salmon or trout.

Suklje Classic Blaufrankisch

Variety: Bläufrankisch
Origin: Bela Krajina, Slovenia
Climate: Subpannonian continental with
mediterranean influences
Vineyard: Doma, Lokvica, Plešivica
Soil: Marl, limestone
Alcohol: 13% vol
The nose offers a complex mix of raspberry, blueberry and blackberry with a hint of
typical peppery and dried herbs character. The spicy component is more expressive in
2021 than in the previous vintages. The palate is light to medium-bodied, juicy, fleshy,
fruity and herbal supported by gentle tannins and some mid-palate spark bringing
vibrancy to the wine. A shining Cabernet-Franc-like Blaufrankisch which is also an
amazing companion for many different types of food.
Suklje Classic is fresh, vibrant and juicy as we have crafted it for many years, with just a touch of modernity to soften the natural energy of this beautiful variety.
Grapes were hand harvested in 15 kg crates, fermented for 14 days on skins and
thereafter wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tank before being
aged in 4 to 5 years old barrique barrels and traditional big 2000l oval casks for a year. Wine is not filtered or fined.

Zaic Cvicek- Full Circle

The Zajc family is known in Slovenia as one of the best and most ecological-friendly Cviček producers. Cviček is in many regards considered to be the “national wine” of Slovenia, as it has tremendous historical significance. Known as the “people’s” wine due to its easy consumption, low alcohol, and food-friendly pairings with virtually anything, Cviček got its origins throughout history as Slovenia’s were always made out to be as second-class citizens in the various empires that conquered them. The often poor Slovene farmers were forced to make wine with the grapes they had in their small vineyards. Thus, a cult-wine was born! Known for its specific and unique acidity, playful – yet sour – berry and cherry aroma and taste, the wine is certainly crisp (don’t let the low alcohol food you!), light-bodied, mineral-driven, young, fresh, and definitely easy to drink – which is why we put it in a liter bottle for you!
